Silver Airways pushes back early morning Dulles flights at airport

— Bad news for those trying to schedule early morning flights from the Johnstown-Cambria County Airport to Dulles International or late return trips: Beginning Thursday, those flights won’t be offered.

Citing a lack of resources and low demand in the Johnstown-Altoona market, Silver Airways, which operates on behalf of United Express to provide the scheduled flight, will be consolidating its crew and maintenance workers for two of its four aircraft at Dulles, according to Larry Hoover, a pro-bono consultant for the airport authority.

“That cuts into usage by (businessmen),” said Rich Weaver, airport authority chairman. “It’s just not good for the airport."

Read more details, including how the new schedule will look and the reason for the change in Wednesday's Tribune-Democrat.
